Hope
A quiet anchor for uncertain seasons.
A reflection
Hope in Scripture is not optimism about outcomes. It is confidence in a Person, described as an anchor — something that holds while the surface stays rough. Lamentations, a book of genuine devastation, contains one of the clearest statements of hope in the Bible, written by someone who had lost nearly everything. Mercies new every morning is a line born in ruins, not in comfort. If hope feels far away today, notice that Scripture lets you say so. You can hold hope loosely and still be held. It is often quieter than we expect, and it usually arrives one morning at a time.
